- ✓ Meet the first few times in a public place, and let someone know where you are going.
- ✓ Verify what you are told, such as workplace, education and city, before things become serious.
- ✓ Use the platform for early conversations so we can help if something goes wrong.
Please don't
- ✕ Never send money, gift cards or bank details to anyone, for any reason.
- ✕ Do not share OTPs, passwords, Aadhaar or PAN details with a member.
- ✕ Do not move to a private chat app before you are comfortable.
- ✕ Avoid sharing your home address or workplace address early on.
- ✕ Do not accept requests to invest, buy crypto or "help with customs charges".
Warning signs to watch for
▲ Asking for money
Any request for money, however small or urgent it sounds, is a scam. Report it immediately.
▲ Refusing to video call
Someone who always has an excuse not to show their face may not be who they claim to be.
▲ Rushing to marry
Pressure to commit within days, before families have met, is not normal.
▲ Inconsistent details
Job, city or family details that change between conversations are worth questioning.
